Some Words About "An Ancient Kapilvastu"

Tilaurakot, the Ancient Kapilvastu where Shakya King Suddodhan reigned over two and half century back, is situated on the bank of Banganga river near a dense forest, 4Km to the north of Taulihawa City.
Lord Buddha, the only son of King Suddodhan, lived here for 29 years of his formative age. Although Prince Siddharth was brought up in a very aesthetic and luxurious environment at his Royal Palace Kapilvastu, he renounced his worldly life in his prime in search of enlightenment.
The Ancient Kapilvastu, the shrine of world peace that has tremendous potentialities for spiritual growth, inspires all the peace loving people around the world. This ancient city of Shakyas after having been sacked by Viruddhaka slowly fell into oblivion and got lost for centuries.
The search for the lost site of Kapilvastu was a challenge to archaeologist. In the nineteenth century, archaeologist made great efforts to explore the exact location of Kapilvastu. Archaeologists like P.C. Mukherji, J. Nakamura, D'mitra, Taranand Mishra and B.K.Rijal. who carried out excavations in Tilaurakot and other related archaeological sites of the region, identified Tilaurakot with the ancient Kapilvastu, on the basis of the Jatakas, the Lalitvistara, Baudha Charita, the Ashoka pillars and the accounts of Chinese pilgrims Hsuan Tsans and Fa-hein. Their archaeological findings have brought the authenticity of Kapilvastu to light.
This fortified palace complex which has four gates on the cardinal directions, is 1700 feet long to north-south and 1300 feet wide to east-west. The excavations have exposed both the wester and eastern gateways and structural complex in the center.
From the excavation of the western gateway flanked by two brick bastions, a 19 feet wide road with brick plate forms on both sides, leading from the gateway into the citadel encircled by moat and defense wall have been found. Copper coins, iron spade, chisel and other metal objects have also been found near the gate.
Other objects like coins, shards of P.G. ware, N.B.P. wares and weapons of the time of Kushang, Maurya and Sunga period were also found in the excavation of the structural complex.
Likewise, the excavation of the eastern gate complex, also known as 'Mahabhinisharman Dwar' through which Buddha went out renouncing his princely life in search of peace, has uncovered a 19 feet wide road flanked on either side by bastion. Moreover, terracotta human and animal figurines, beads, bangles, coins, a seal bearing a Brahmi inscription, shards of painted Grey ware and N.B.P. wares too have been found here.

Makes you look younger

"You grow up the day you have your first real laugh, at yourself"

People do exercise for all the muscles of the body, but there is no regular exercise designed for facial muscles except in Yoga. Laughter is an excellent exercise for your facial muscles. It tones up the muscles of the face and improves facial expressions. When you laugh, your face becomes red due to an increase in blood supply, which nourishes the facial skin and makes it glow. Laughing people look more cheerful and attractive. By squeezing the tear glands through laughter, it moistens the eyes adding a little sparkle to them. Laughter exercises the abdominal muscles and helps to improve muscle tone of those with potbellies.

From the very outset, this school has been marching on the path of progress with the help of active co-operation extended by devoted teachers, local inhabitants, intellectuals and guardians.
It is committed to its objective of shaping the future life of our beloved children so as to turn them into competent citizens with necessary knowledge and skills.

An introduction to Tilaurakot Secondary School, Gobari, Kapilvastu

Tilaurakot Secondary School
Kapilvastu is a holy play-ground of Lord Buddha, The Chief messenger of World Peace who is regarded as The Light of Asia. There is a historical place named Tilaurakot in Kapilvastu district. There is also a VDC after the name of Tilaurakot in which this school was established at Gobari in the Ward No-3 of this VDC in B.S.2045 (1988A.D.). This school has been run with the help of active participation of the local people of this VDC for imparting education to the children of this community. So this school is named "Tilaurakot Secondary School" by the name of this VDC.
During the time of its establishment, this school was given approbation to run class upto "Grade Three" But now this school has got permission to run class upto "Grade Ten" to provide educational service in its catchment area. First of all this school was run with the help of active participation of education loving people in the follow land which lies to the north of Tilaurakot (Ancient Kapilvastu) but due to the opposition made by the Official of Archeology department, Kapilvastu, a suitable site was needed to be sought. Therefore it is running on now to the eat of Gobari Village.
To the east of this school, there is a Peepal tree which is 200 years old and further to the east of this tree, there is Taulihawa-Jeetpur road. There is a Health Post to the West of this school and a big 'Pond' lies to the north of it. The Gobari Village Cross-road is to the south of this school.
During the beginning period of its establishment. there were 30 students who were reading (learning) in class one. The work of teaching was done there by only one teacher. With the help of its own finance a building was constructed in 2050 B.S. where class upto Grade Five were run.
Through this school is given permission to run classes of 'Lower Secondary School' in 2056 B.S. yet it hasn't got the letter of approbation even now. In the same way teaching, learning work of the 'Proposed Secondary School' is proceeding on from 2065 B.S.
Now there are 489 students who are learning here. Including male and female teachers, there are altogether 12 teachers in total employed in this school. Among them 4 permanent teachers, 5 teachers from Relief Quota and  3 teachers from its own source are working here. Besides this, a Child Development Assistant Personnel and an attendant are also working here.
This school has three Blocks of Building of its own. One of them is a brick-built 'Concrete Block' which contains 9 rooms including Office room. The other Block contains 2 rooms with Tin-roof. The remaining Block for Child Development section has only Tin-shed just like a thatch. In the same way there are facilities of Toilet rooms with urinals for Boys and Girls separately. For teacher-staff, there are also two roomed Toilet block for ladies and gents.
This school has no kind of land by its name. It has captured only 5 Katthas of land. The school compound is not sufficient for the play-ground. There is only One hand-pipe here for drinking water. To the north of this school there is a big pond which covers 2 Bighas of land. This pond in only source of income of this school.
